THE BEST PRODUCTIVITY APPS FOR STUDENTS

HOW TO MAKE TIME FOR YOUR STUDIES AND FOR YOURSELF

Being a student isn’t easy, and with distractions all around us, it isn’t surprising that many of us find it challenging to organize our time or to stay focused on our studies.

As a college student, time management is not only an essential skill to find success in your academics, but it also allows you to make time for other passions, and to take care of yourself and your mental health. They say that being a student is a full-time job. With college, extracurriculars, internships, and prepping up for further studies or jobs, student life can be one of the busiest phases of your life.

With so much on your platter, it is natural to feel hard-pressed for time. In fact, a good percentage of college students feel overwhelmed by their coursework.

I’m constantly fussing with my routine, coming up with ways I can get things done faster and have more time in my day for the things I want to do.

This means that, over the years, I’ve tried a lot of apps to enhance my productivity. I’ve tried many different kinds of productivity philosophies, and I’ve tried a universe of different apps and systems for managing what has to get done in my life.

Productivity apps have become extremely popular with students across the globe, and are said to boost student performance exponentially.

Here’s the list of 5 productivity apps which I prefer using and has helped me out with my everyday routine:

  1. CALENDLY — If you are like me who really forgets about the upcoming events etc then this app is for you. It checks all calendars to avoid schedule conflicts or double-booking. It is very efficient and helps organize work and personal life pretty well.
  2. NOTION — Create, organize, and store everything in one place for meetings, projects, or your personal grocery list ,this app does it all. Have been using this personally past some months and my life is kinda organised now. It’s been a year now and I really like how organised this application has made my life. Below is a snapshot of my notion account .
Notion

3. READWISE — Readwise has it all be it syncing your highlights from Kindle, Instapaper, Pocket, iBooks, and more. Review the best parts easily through a daily email and app. It helps to bring all your highlights to one particular place and you can have a look at all of them in one single place. Helps you to see all the highlights together in one place really helps me write more as I can pick up more ideas and might help you too.

4. POMODORO APPS(Another favourite )The Pomodoro technique helps you resist all of those self-interruptions and re-train your brains to focus. Each pomodoro is dedicated to one task and each break is a chance to reset and bring your attention back to what you should be working on. Here you break your workday into 25-minute chunks separated by five-minute breaks.eg-Forest app etc.

5. DAYONE — Journals proved to be invaluable tools for examining past experiences, evaluating their own actions, and drawing insights for encountering future challenges. I recently acquired this habit of journaling and would recommend for all my fellowmates as it declutters your mind and helps you start anything new with fresh mind.

The best philosophy I’ve found is this: Don’t do more than you have to.

“There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.”Peter Drucker

The best way to increase efficiency in your life is to cut out things that don’t need to be done in the first place.
